Cavtat Vacation Rentals
This is the hardest page for us to help you with because, as property owners in Cavtat, we’ve never actually stayed in a vacation rental or hotel here ourselves. The following information is gathered from friends and family who’ve stayed in the area, tourists we’ve spoken to, and our general observations from living in the town, seeing the accommodations from the street, and researching them online.
According to Airbnb, there are 772 vacation rentals in Cavtat, so there’s no way for us to list or review all of them. This page, however, can act as a guide on how to select the right vacation rental in Cavtat.
It’s meant to give you an idea of the types of accommodations you can rent, from small to large, in and out of the Old Town, with or without a view. Please note that this page does not include hotels, which we define as places offering hotel-like services such as a front desk, cleaning services, etc. For options on hotels in Cavtat, check out our dedicated page here.
Before booking any vacation rental or hotel in Cavtat, always do your own research and compare different booking platforms.

Airbnb Reviews in Cavtat
While putting together this page, we noticed that many of the properties we’ve seen people enjoy have little to no reviews on Airbnb. Although Airbnb is our personal go-to, it may not be as popular in Europe as other short-term rental booking websites. If you find a place you like on Airbnb and it has few or no reviews, check other booking sites to ensure that this is genuinely the case and not just a reflection of platform popularity.
Location, Location, Location
When selecting a vacation rental for your visit to Cavtat, one of the most important things to consider is the location in relation to Cavtat Harbour, as that’s where all the action is, primarily along the Cavtat Promenade, which runs alongside the harbour.
Why is location so important? Because in almost all cases, you’ll be walking from your vacation rental into Cavtat for catching the water ferry to Dubrovnik, dining at the amazing restaurants, or visiting the many Cavtat beaches. One challenging aspect of Cavtat is that the area behind the harbour is quite hilly, so walking down into Cavtat will be much easier than walking back uphill to your vacation rental.
The best point of reference to use when determining how far your vacation rental is from town is the local bakery, Peco, as it is right at the entrance to Cavtat. You can use this Google Map we’ve created to help you.
Put od Cavtata Sidewalk
One of the best parts about Cavtat is that in the last few years, a brand new sidewalk has been added along the road from the highway down to the town. This road is called Put od Cavtata. This pathway serves as the main artery connecting many Airbnbs via walking to the town. Near the town, there are some quicker detours that don’t follow the Put od Cavtata sidewalk. To illustrate where you can find this sidewalk, we’ve included the map below.
Mobility Issues?
If you have mobility issues, Cavtat can be challenging due to the many stairs and hills. For those with mild mobility issues, we recommend staying as close to the Cavtat Harbour as possible to reduce the number of steps and hills you have to navigate to get home. For serious mobility issues, the only place we can genuinely recommend is Hotel Supetar. It’s located on the promenade in Cavtat and has no stairs or hills to get to the hotel. Additionally, the hotel has an elevator inside to access your room.
